What brought you into enduraLAB in the first place? My career goal requires me to be physically fit. I was initially looking for personal trainers in the Fort Worth area when I came across enduraLAB and immediately knew this was where I wanted to start my fitness journey.
What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB? I’ve never been an active person. Most of the time my daily workout consisted of remote clicking, haha. However, when I did workout I did very basic things like crunches, planks, walking/jogging (rarely).
What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB? Since joining the LAB I’ve been committed to attending every class Monday-Saturday and some additional classes/events hosted by the LAB. I have also joined the NutritionLAB at enduraLAB and have changed the way I eat. I went from living off of junk food to actually fueling my body with healthier choices.
Tell us what you do outside of the LAB? Jobs. I have multiple jobs. I’m a full time mother of 5 boys and I own Enchantress Lux, which is an online store of minimalist style jewelry. I also make custom creations and I’m a full time student.
How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? When I first joined the LAB I had never lifted or had serious workout experience. I started out lifting the barbell only and now I’m up to 90lbs! It’s not much to many, but it’s a big jump for me and I’m only getting stronger. I’ve also seen my endurance build up each week along with actual visible muscles. Which I’m super proud of because I don’t think I’ve ever had muscles in my life, haha.
What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? Within the next 6 months I would like to be able to run 1.5 miles in under 15 minutes, a 300 meter sprint in 60 seconds, 15 pushups nonstop, and 45 sit-ups in under a minute.
What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program? enduraLAB has so many great programs/events and they make them all fun so it’s hard to choose. I would say my favorite is the workout classes. I love them because although we are all at different levels of fitness, there is so much encouragement from everyone. The class environment feels like personal training sessions except with friends. It’s amazing.
What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB? Keep coming! Everyone has days that they don’t feel like working out but you have to push yourself to come until it becomes a habit. If you come daily you will DEFINITELY notice the changes in your body within a few weeks.
Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW? My favorite cheat meal is TACOS!!! I love the ones from this Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood.
Current read / podcast? I don’t read much outside of the literature I’m required to read for school, haha. However, when I have time I like to read things like “Mind Hacking” or “The Color Code” - I’ll also listen to mindset and manifestation YouTube videos or podcasts
Where did you go to college? I graduated with my B.S. in Psychology with minor in Counseling from Texas A&M University- Commerce. I’m currently working on my Masters in Criminal Justice at Tarleton State University
