What brought you to enduraLAB? I was looking for a change to my regular routine of basic weights and some cardio and enduraLAB came highly recommended.
What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB? A basic routine of weights interspersed with cardio.
What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB? I’ve incorporated a lot more stretching (with intent as Roman says) and the changes I’m seeing & feeling have inspired me to really focus on improving my diet and eating habits.
Tell us what you do outside of the LAB? I work for the BNSF railway. Outside of that I try to spend as much time outside as I can. I also spend more time than I should on Netflix.
How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? I’ve seen a big change in my cardio capacity - although I have a fair ways to go to catch up with Casey and others ! I’m also quite happy about the opportunity to improve and fine tune my technique for the clean & snatch movements. And last... but not least, I’m squatting and deadlifting weight that I haven’t done since my college days - this time very safely with proper technique and guidance from the great trainers at the LAB.
What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? I’ve got to figure this jump rope thing out! What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program? I really enjoyed the Murph event on Memorial Day.
What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB? Don’t be intimidated by how complex the workout sounds or by other athletes there. The community of members and coaches are incredibly supportive and have great insights to help you improve. Stick with it and go all out.
Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW? Tacos!
Current read/podcast? Just started listening to the 1619 podcast. Also just wrapped up reading a great book called “How to hide an empire” Pump up song? any Latin urban music!
Any final words or thoughts? I think you guys have built a great environment At enduralab. It has such a supportive and encouraging and close-knit community on top of a truly fun, varied and effective workout format. Fantastic work - I know it takes a lot to build and sustain it.
