Meet Roy Valenzuela

Meet our newest member of the enduraLAB team, Roy Valenzuela! He has joined on to help with us with the front desk in the mornings. Read more about him below.

Where are you originally from?

I am originally from Gypsum, Colorado, a small Ranching Community 30 minutes away from Vail. Grew up a huge skier because of that.

 What brought you to enduraLAB?

I've always been into fitness since a very young age. I loved being in the gym. But I only truly started working out when high school began. I played football all four years, and that is where I learned my fundamentals of lifting. Unfortunately, I had a bad knee injury in my senior year, and since then, my training has been completely off. Then, Nathan Sanchez, an Athlete at Enduralab, recommended me for a front desk position at enduraLAB. The fire was re-lit for me. The staff and Enduralab sparked my motivation to get back to work!

Where do you go to school, and what is your degree in?

I originally went to the University of Alabama as an Architectural Engineer (roll ride). But I never really fit into the atmosphere of such a big school. So I decided to transfer to TCU for the Spring of 2020. I now go to TCU, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelors's in Economics with a minor in Finance.

What do you expect to bring to the table?

I plan to bring the ultimate energy to the table. Many of my close friends call me the Energizer bunny because I am always energized, even at 5:00 am.

What do you love about the LAB?

I love enduraLAB because the coaches and staff are very personal with their athletes. I always see the coaches connecting with the athletes and genuinely bonding. Also, the overall energy that the gym has. It keeps the athletes motivated throughout the workouts, even when you're running on empty.

 What are your fitness goals?

As stated Before, I had major knee surgery done. Since then, my lower body hasn't reached the numbers that I had in high school. With that in mind, my main goal is to bring my leg back to full strength and start to hit some PRs in Deadlift and Squat (front/back). I would also love to improve my Olympic lifts. I find the movement technical and difficult.. and I love it. So I want to get my form on point for my power clean and snatch.

What are you currently reading?

Swipe Right by Levi Lusko is the book I am currently reading. But you will catch me reading a different book every week. (I just love reading)

What song is really pumping you up right now?

I've been super big into Maverick City. But to pump me up, I always go to my rock playlist with various artists. (My favorite is Kaleo)

What is your favorite show/movie?

Favorite Show: Yellowstone

Fav Movie: Gladiator

(I love watching movies, so if ya ever need a recommendation, come ask)

What are two things on your bucket list?

Visting Australia (except for those dang snakes and spiders, I'm not getting anywhere near that)

Sitting Court side at a Lakers Game(Love Basketball)

Is there anything else you want the LAB community to know about you?

I love to connect with people and am always up for a conversation. So please be free to come and chat at the Front Desk. I also love coffee, so I can tell ya some fantastic places to go to!
