It’s summertime in Texas and although it is just the beginning of June, it looks like it’s going to be a scorcher. I personally don’t enjoy eating anything above room temperature when it’s this hot outside, and I find my kids constantly asking for cold sweet treats.

Rather than loading them up on store bought frozen pops that are filled with red-dye and high fructose corn syrup, I’ve started to make my own. Not only do I trick them into eating something healthy, but I also get to enjoy them too with zero guilt.

Danielle Walker is the author of the amazing blog www.againstallgrain.com and series of cookbooks by the same name. I stumbled upon her recipe for a Creamy Chocolate Shakerecently, and have tweaked it a bit to suit my taste.

Although it is technically a shake, this time of year I like to pour it in my favorite zoku popsicle molds to create a creamy, delicious fudge pop that satisfies my family’s sweet tooth and is perfect post-workout. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do! For more healthy tips, tricks and recipes come see me at the LAB or email me at Caroline Bailey
