Role at the LAB. Personal Trainer, Coach and Head of Operations. I’m thrilled to have been given an opportunity to return to the LAB in a full-time capacity. I look forward to being part of a community of coaches and athletes that are constantly striving to be the best-of-the-best. This year we are going to take the LAB to the next level, and I am positioned to bring the pump.
What do you love about the LAB? Oh, my goodness... I love everything. I truly live to Eat.Sleep.Enduralab.Repeat. I love our LAB community, smart programming, run club, and the wins our members achieve inside and outside of the gym. I am forever in awe of our amazing coaches, staff, facility, and our super fun and highly anticipated events.
As a coach and personal trainer, how do you keep clients motivated? I work hard to draw out people’s strengths. In my class you can expect to laugh, sweat and feel strong! I would say my coaching style is motivating, positive and encouraging. I do, however, have a bit of a reputation for being the "hard" coach. I’m not sure why, but you can always expect me to push you to do your best (in the best way). I strive every day to deliver the best hour of your day!
Goals. Professionally, I am working towards becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by August. My personal fitness goal is to run the Coyote 25k Trail race in April.
What are you reading? The CSCS study manual.
Fitness and Nutrition Inspiration. Truthfully, I’m inspired by the people at the LAB every single day. Members walk through our doors ready to crush their fitness goals no matter what they are dealing with outside of the gym. That is so motivating!
What inspires me nutritionally? Now, that’s a book. For the purpose of this interview, and to keep things simple, I will say that my nutrition inspiration comes from everywhere. I was an early adapter to the Paleo/Zone/Whole30 models, and then I tweaked my nutrition after every go.
When I became Precision Nutrition certified, I incorporated those techniques into my diet as well. Needless to say, my nutrition varies based on my goals at the time. When I coach others, it depends on their goals. Nutrition is not a one size fits all by any means.
Want more nutrition information from Coach Isis? She is hosting a Meal Prep Clinic at the LAB on Saturday, March 14 at 8:00 AM. Expect a healthy discussion on the finer points of meal prepping, learn tips and tricks for success, and walk away with a stack of recipes to get you started. Free for Premium Members, $20 for all others. You don’t have to be a member of the LAB to participate.
