Randee is a full-time truck driver, father of 5, and devoted husband. It may seem like Randee has little time to work out, however, he loves a challenge. As he slowly started to integrate into the LAB, he immersed himself in not only the group classes but the ruck club and nutrition. He is definitely on a roll and has big goals he wants to achieve in the next 6 months!
What brought you to enduraLAB?
I originally came for a tour with my wife for her to find a gym to get started with. I was working out of town at the time, but as soon as I was able, I signed up and joined her.
What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?
Little to nonexistent, sad to say. I would do push-ups, jump rope, and run. I didn't have a routine but more like whenever I felt like doing some sort of exercise. I was a flatbed truck driver so I did have work almost daily that could count as a workout.
What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?
I've cut back a large amount of takeout/fast food and try to eat more home-cooked meals.
Tell us what you do outside of the LAB?
I drive semi trucks for company contracted to the post office and deliver your mail. I do a lot of home improvement projects for my wife and family. I'm constantly busy with different things going on with my 5 sons.
How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little.
I'm a lot stronger than I thought I was. My endurance is improving. I signed up and attended a 26.2 mile Ruck and actually finished. Would've never thought I'd ever have done that. I'm definitely hoping to get into more competitions in future because I love a challenge.
What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months?
Where do I start lol.
I would like to be over 400 lbs on my squat.
I would like to drop about 15 lbs off my waste.
Run 2-5 miles unbroken
Bench 275-300
Endurance boost
I have tons more I'm sure.
What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program?
I joined the ruck club right away and loved it. There's just something about it that just leaves you fulfilled after a morning of rucking. After you get used to carrying weight, it gets easy and fun walking around the city with friends exploring new areas and not realizing how far you actually traveled.
What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?
When you come to class don't get overwhelmed with trying to keep up. There are people of all fitness backgrounds here. Pace yourself and feel your body out to see what it allows you to do and push yourself from there. Coaches are super helpful and everyone is friendly and more than willing to help you understand a movement. enduraLAB has a nice little community so jump in and have fun taking your fitness to another level.
If we had a workout in honor of you, what would it be called and what would it consist of?
Workout could be called something like PowerHouse that would consist of powerlifting movements. I was in powerlifting in high school and miss it a little.
Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW?
I cheat way too much unfortunately so no favorite.
I would go with a nice big cookout right at home with lots of sides.
Current read / podcast? Pump up song?
Not a big reader but will do an audiobook. BiggerPockets podcast. No particular song. I like the late 90's early 2000's R&B and hip hop- guess I'm a little old lol.
Final thoughts?
I'm glad my wife and I found this gym.
It has helped us both so much already and we just love the class style workouts. I still have a journey ahead fitness wise, but super excited to see how strong I can get while staying small as I can.
