Meet Kevin Caffey, July Member of the Month

Ever wake up one day after a birthday and just know it's time to get back on track? That’s exactly what happened to our July Member of the Month, Kevin Caffey. Kevin’s fitness journey is a bit of a roller coaster ride, complete with life’s ups and downs, a torn rotator cuff, an Achilles tendon tear, and the occasional dip in discipline. But like any great ride, Kevin’s story is full of thrills, perseverance, and a triumphant return to enduraLAB.

The Comeback Kid: Rediscovering the LAB

Kevin first joined enduraLAB back in 2015 at our former location. When he decided it was time to get back in shape, he knew exactly where to go. After some inconsistent at-home workouts and miles of running, Kevin returned to the LAB with a mission. Since rejoining, he’s been a picture of consistency, showing up four times a week and making impressive strides in both fitness and nutrition.

From Miles to Muscles: Kevin’s Routine Revamp

Before his Achilles tendon tear, Kevin was running 5 miles a day, 5-6 days a week. Post-rehab, his routine included at-home bodyweight workouts and rowing, but nothing too consistent. Fast forward to today, and Kevin’s workout regimen is as strong as ever, with a steady diet of LAB sessions, protein, collagen, creatine supplements, and increased water intake. It’s clear that Kevin’s dedication to his health has only grown stronger.

Life Outside the LAB

When he’s not crushing it at the LAB, Kevin is a devoted Christ-follower, husband, dad, and VP for a hospitality company. He loves spending time with his church community, watching his son play baseball, and hanging out with friends and family. His job helps pay for his enduraLAB membership, but it’s his passion for fitness and community that keeps him coming back.

Strength, Stamina, and Success

Kevin’s hard work is paying off in spades. He’s not only gotten stronger and improved his cardiovascular fitness, but he’s also seen significant changes in weight, body fat percentage, and muscle mass. Pull-ups, which once seemed out of reach, are now part of his repertoire. Kevin’s progress is a testament to his dedication and the supportive environment at enduraLAB.

Goals on the Horizon

In the next six months, Kevin aims to continue his fitness trajectory, stay consistent, and make further improvements in his nutrition. With his unwavering commitment, there’s no doubt he’ll achieve these goals and more.

Favorite LAB Events

Kevin loves a good challenge, and the Memorial Day Murph and the D-day workout are two of his favorite events. These tough workouts are perfect for showcasing his progress and pushing his limits.

Words of Wisdom

Kevin’s advice for newcomers? It depends on their fitness level. For those ready to push to the next level, he recommends diving into the Performance workouts. For those just starting out, he emphasizes the non-judgmental, supportive community at enduraLAB and the importance of consistency. And don’t forget to foam roll and stretch to avoid injuries!
