It’s super important to hydrate in general, but specifically after a heavy sweat session. This drink, originally created by Shalane Flanagan is called the “warrior drink.” It is a refreshing drink that provides potassium, antioxidants, electrolytes and omega-3 fatty acids. Note that the chia seeds will expand giving it a boba tea feeling. If this isn’t you thing, feel free to omit chia seeds from the recipe.
Ingredients:
1 cup of coconut water
½ cup of tart cherry juice
½ cup of filtered water
Juice of 1 lime
2 tbs of chia
⅛ tsp of sea salt
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients together in a large blender bottle. Seal lid and shake to combine.
- Chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes to allow chia seeds to gel. For best results, chill overnight. Shake before drinking.
