Read more below!

What brought you to enduraLAB?

I moved to Fort Worth from Minnesota in the beginning of November and immediately started looking for a gym home. I tried out a bunch of options in the area before being invited to the holiday hustle (shoutout to Becca). After the first workout I was sold and knew I would be joining as a member. The intentional programming, sense of playfulness and genuine community amongst members was evident and something I knew I wanted to be a part of.

What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?

I was a dedicated member of a gym in Minneapolis that offered group fitness classes, my favorites being bootcamp style, HIIT and cycle. Running is also a big joy in my life and a Saturday morning long run has been a part of my weekend routine for many years.

What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?

Rest and mobility are now a part of my workout routine. EnduraLAB encourages proper warming up and rolling out as a part of the programming which I would have previously skipped or “not counted” as a part of working out. I have given myself more grace in taking rest days and leaned in to slow primers and skillwork.

Tell us what you do outside of the LAB?

I am the business manager of Taste Project, an amazing nonprofit and pay-what-you-can restaurant here in Fort Worth. This place is awesome and I absolutely love my job. The menu is fresh, chef-prepared and changes seasonally, with the mission to feed, educate and serve the community so that they may taste and see that the Lord is good. I love the dynamic nature of my role, which includes managing relationships with grant providers and donors as well as actively serving tables in the restaurant. Besides my job, I am at my happiest when I am outside, immersed in nature. I like biking, rollerblading and reading books or sipping coffee in the sunshine. I am also always cooking - I like to challenge myself with new culinary techniques and ingredients and enjoy hosting dinner parties.

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little.

Since joining, I am most proud of the diversity of new skills I have tried. I had never even attempted a double under, a handstand against the wall or a 30 inch box jump before coming to the LAB and it has been rewarding to push myself into newness. I am here to give everything a good shot!

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months?

I would love to sign up for a race this year! I’ve had previous injuries that have stalled my running goals, so I’m hoping to work on mobilizing and loosening so that I can add mileage and train for speed.

What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program?

I am hoping to get more involved in the Lab events this year! So far I’ve just been having a blast with the 6am crew every morning.

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?

Be consistent! It’s a lot of fun and a positive start to the day.

If we had a workout in honor of you, what would it be called and what would it consist of?

Let’s call it the huff and puff: Running intervals, rowing, maybe some dumbbell snatches for good measure. I like endurance and bursts of high intensity and am all for the sweaty, heart-thumping workouts.

Favorite treat meal/restaurant in D/FW?

I’m always on the hunt for a sweet scratch bakery and love the offerings at Black Rooster: berry muffins, coffee cakes, sourdough loaves. Delightful. Pair that with sunshine and an americano and I am a happy gal.

Current read / podcast?

I am inspired by stories of entrepreneurship and am a long time listener of, “How I Built This”. I also enjoy the podcast “No Stupid Questions” for the silly and engaging conversations it sets in motion.

 Pump up song?

Any remixed Taylor Swift song. It will instantly push me into the next RPE zone.

Any final words or thoughts?

I’m truly grateful to be a part of this community. It has been one of the best things I’ve found since moving here and it fills me with vibrancy and joy each day. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me in - I am excited to grow deeper in my relationships and my fitness goals with you all!
