What brought you to enduraLAB? I started coming to the LAB in 2016 while attending TCU. I was looking for a gym that would challenge me. I moved away after graduation and when I moved back to Fort Worth enduraLAB was one of my first stops!
What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB? Before the LAB, I did majority cardio and core exercises. Rarely did I do any strength training and if I did, I never pushed myself.
What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB? Since joining the LAB, I am more consistent with working out. I am also more mindful of what I am putting in my body and what is going to fuel me for the day and my workouts.
Tell us what you do outside of the LAB? I am an ICU nurse here in Fort Worth. When I'm not working, I love to travel and spend time with my goldendoodle, Wally.
How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little. Ever since coming to enduraLAB I have gained more muscle and am able to lift more than I ever thought I would. I was always intimidated to lift heavy weights because I didn't want to be "bulky." Now I push myself to lift more and more every chance I get.
What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? My goal this year was to start attending strength and conditioning classes once I moved from night shift to day shift. Now that I have committed to that, I hope to remain consistent in attending classes and continue to become stronger and stronger. Heck, I wouldn't mind even hitting a few PRs too!
What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program? Honestly, I love the strength and conditioning classes. I always attended open gym and did workouts solo, but now that I have started attending, I'm hooked.
What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB? Don't be intimidated. Everyone is so welcoming and the coaches are hands down the best. Get yourself through the doors and after that you'll keep coming back for more!
Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW? Definitely fajitas and margs from Joe T's
Current read / podcast? The Absolutely Not podcast has been one I have listened to for the past few years. If you’re wanting a good laugh, you should give it a listen! Otherwise, I love some Crime Junkie.
Pump up song? Anything Kygo
Any final words or thoughts? EnduraLAB is seriously the highlight of most of my days. I am constantly challenged and pushed in workouts more than I ever have been. So thankful to have a gym with amazing coaches and a community here in FTW!
