What brought you to enduraLAB?
Before enduraLAB, all I really did was run. I was looking to get a more complete workout, adding strength training while continuing endurance work. enduraLAB fit that perfectly.
What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?
Just a lot of running.
What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?
A lot more stretching and foam rolling for recovery. I’ve also added more protein to my diet to build some muscle.
Tell us what you do outside of the LAB?
My brother and I started a small oil and gas company in 2017 so that keeps us busy. Outside of work I play golf, play with my dog, Buddy, hang out with family and friends and enjoy weekends at Possum Kingdom Lake.
How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB?
I’ve gotten a lot stronger, and, despite not running as much as I used to, have gotten faster.
What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months?
Muscle Ups!
What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program?
Hell week was a lot of fun. Brutal but fun.
What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?
Don’t get intimidated by the workouts. They’re really as tough as you make them. Plus, the coaches are great at editing the workouts so everyone can get through them. Also, try to be consistent.
If we had a workout in honor of you, what would it be called and what would it consist of?
I like pull days and running. We actually did a workout this morning that was all running and pullups. That’s my jam.
Favorite treat meal/restaurant in D/FW?
I’m Texan to the core so Tex-Mex and BBQ are my go-to meals. Heim BBQ is my favorite.
Current read / podcast?
Right now I’m reading Beyond Order by Jordan Peterson.
Pump up song?
Javelina by Red Shahan
Any final words or thoughts?
This probably gets said a lot, but the people at enduraLAB are awesome. From coaches to members everyone has been helpful, encouraging and welcoming since I joined. Everyone seems to be in a good mood at the LAB and that makes it easier to keep coming back.
