What brought you into enduraLAB in the first place? I was looking for a change of pace in my workout routine. I had been working out at LA Fitness and my routine was getting very repetitive.
What healthy changes have you made since starting enduraLAB? I’ve tried to pay more attention to the types of food I eat; focusing on making healthier choices.
Tell us what you do outside of the LAB? I am the Vice President at O’Neal Oil & Gas Company. Outside work, I spend most of my time with my wife and 5-month-old labradoodle, Winston.
How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Since joining the LAB in May, I’ve put on over 10 pounds of muscle and my resting heart rate has dropped from ~60 to ~45 bpm. I’ve also had PR’s in just about every lift since joining.
What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? The next year? My goal for the next 6-8 weeks is to recover from a broken hand. After that I’ll come back and just continue to work on improving my strength and cardiovascular health. Goals in the back of my mind: 300# bench, 300# clean, 200# snatch and 500# deadlift.
If there was a workout named after you, what would it consist of? Something quick but painful; maybe like a 21-15-9 with cleans (med to light weight) and burpee pull-ups. Definitely no running.
What is your favorite enduraLAB program/cycle? I really enjoy the Power Cycle with the clean and snatch being the two primary lifts. The high technicality of those lifts makes PR’s very rewarding; plus, it’s a hell of a workout.
What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB? Stick with it, focus on technique, trust the process.
Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW? Double double from In-N-Out.
Where did you go to college? Undergrad at the University of Oklahoma (BOOMER!), and graduate school at the University of Houston.
