enduraLAB 2018: A Year In Review

At enduraLAB, we are constantly planning and programming for a better tomorrow. With the year drawing to a close, we wanted to take a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate our amazing community with a few of our favorite images and stories from 2018. We hope you’ll enjoy these highlights as much as we enjoyed compiling this stroll down memory lane.   


JANUARY

We kicked off 208 with the 21-Day Challenge. This program is designed to reset your body through proper nutrition, exercise and healthy habits. The Challenge was uniquely programmed to give participants the tools necessary for long-term success including coach support, accountability and access to the best workouts in the city. The best part? The awards ceremony at Martin House Brewing Co.

FEBRUARY

Whether it’s your first race or your 100th, you will be celebrated and encouraged every step of the way with enduraLAB’s run program. Our training includes run form, nutrition, recovery techniques, mobility, injury prevention, breathing and more.

MARCH

The 2018 Beer Olympics was a huge success! Awesome weather, fierce competitors, great beer and a whole lot of fun. Thanks to all of the athletes, spectators, volunteers, the awesome onsite screen printing from Legacy Merch and our partner, Martin House Brewing Co.

APRIL

Ready to make some serious improvements to your strength and endurance? enduraLAB Specialty Programs will get you in the best shape of your life! Members rave about the specialized movements, techniques learned and the community bond.

MAY

Congrats to our runners who tackled the BMO Vancouver Marathon full and half races. Three of those runners qualified for the Boston Marathon in April 2019!
The annual Memorial Day Murph workout is one of enduraLAB’s most time-honored community events. This year it was made extra special thanks to Alchemy Pops, Texas Burrito Co. and Martin House Brewing Co. The Murph workout was created in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, who was killed in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. This workout was based on one of Mike’s favorites, Body Armor.

JUNE

Each spring we celebrate the strong women of enduraLAB with an awesome group workout followed by brunch. This event grows with popularity every year as our amazing community continues to expand.

JULY

Chasing Chapters is an enduraLAB Book Club for athletic enthusiasts. We launched this program in early summer with workouts coached by Isis Hargrave, followed directly by book discussion and dialogue with literary aficionado, Lauren Witherspoon.
The LAB is devoted to providing the best coaching, equipment and programming regardless of athletic background. It is our mission to help others achieve their personal fitness and nutrition goals. This year we had the opportunity to host workouts for a number of local organizations including Joe T. Garcia’s, Righteous Foods and UNTHSC. Needless to say the outcomes were explosive. We look forward to continuing this trend in 2019!

AUGUST

Each month the LAB hosts a Buds-N-Suds community workout for members, friends and guests. We finish the hour with a frosty beverage from our friends at Martin House Brewing Co. It’s no secret that the coaches always look forward to these workouts. The atmosphere is fun and the turnout is always outstanding.

SEPTEMBER

The enduraLAB Ruck Club was formed to provide an opportunity for our community to improve their fitness outside of the gym. We took advantage of our proximity to the Trinity Trails to host weekend Ruck’s throughout the entire year. Each workout is made complete with coffee and breakfast at a local eatery.

OCTOBER

We were excited to expand our range of services to include the BlueWave Weightlifting Club at enduraLAB led by Coach Chris Lofland. We look forward to hosting the BlueWave Weightlifting Championships in February 2019!

NOVEMBER

Remember Hell Week at the LAB? We cranked it up a notch and rolled out some of our most memorable workouts back-to-back! We challenged members to make it out #everydamnday. Our survivors were Jason Estes, Michael Norris, Jay Davis, Cami Bjourklund, Fred Closuit, Ryan Matthews, Coach Caroline, Coach Makenzie and Coach Isis.

The annual YMCA Turkey Trot has become our favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition. The whole enduraLAB crew gathers together with family and friends to run/walk as a team. It almost makes you feel entitled to nibble away the afternoon before sitting down for the big feast.

DECEMBER

The annual enduraLAB Holiday Party is something we plan for months in advance. We love seeing everyone dressed up and ready for a great evening! This year we would like to thank our friends from MELT Ice Creams, The Butcher’s Son and Martin House Brewing Co. for providing some of the best food, beverage and frozen treats in the city!
enduraLAB showed up in force ready to crush the 2018 BMW Dallas Marathon. We had runners complete the marathon, half marathon and team relay.
This year we wrapped up our event planning with the annual Run to the Tree. Each year we invite all of our members to join us for an evening run along the Trinity Trails to the Christmas tree downtown. Together we gather for coffee and a holiday picture. It’s quite honestly one of the best ways to cap off the year!
