Quinn December Memeber of Month.jpg

Quinn Starker is our male Member of the Month for December. He strives to live an active and healthy lifestyle all while having fun. His advice for newcomers is that no matter where you are in the fitness spectrum, enduraLAB will give you the tools you need to build confidence and reach your goals. Thanks Quinn for your dedication and confidence.

What brought you to enduraLAB?

I was getting bored at my previous gym. I was more accustomed to a more structured workout program in college, and I wanted to find something similar.

What was your first impression? How has that changed?

I don't think my first impression has changed. The day I was given a gym tour, Coach Lee gave me a very realistic view into what the gym was like and the various programs available.

What was your first breakthrough moment?

The 42-inch box jump.

What are your current goals at the LAB?

My goals are pretty simple. I want to live a healthy, active lifestyle and have fun doing it. I would also like to continue to strengthen/rehab my knees, back and shoulders.

What’s your favorite enduraLAB memory?

Definitely the Night of the Living Deadlift, except that I forgot to wear a costume. I loved the deadlift ladder and the enduraLAB community.

What advice do you have for anyone thinking about starting at enduraLAB?

It doesn't matter where you start, enduraLAB is designed to build your confidence and your lifting form to help you reach your goals. Plus it’s just fun.

What is your favorite movement/lift? Least favorite?

My favorite would have to be the back squat. My least favorite is definitely toes to bar.

What is your favorite thing about the holidays?

My favorite thing about the holiday’s is that it means it’s ski season!

lisa williams

Lisa Williams always-always has a smile on her face no matter the activity. As our female Member of the Month for December, she came us with a goal: the 2017 Cowtown 50K. Her breakthrough moment was hitting mile 26 of the Ultra, and realizing that her stride and speed were consistent. That’s when she knew her training and dedication had paid off. We are so proud of your accomplishments Lisa!

What brought you to enduraLAB?

I came to the LAB after signing up to run the 2017 Cowtown 50K. While I love to run, I knew that I needed strength training plus a running plan to help me conquer that goal.

What was your first impression? How has that changed?

When I first walked in, I was intimidated by all of the weights and equipment. (I had never really done any serious strength training before). That changed quickly thanks to all of the friendly coaches and positive reinforcement.

What was your first breakthrough moment?

My breakthrough moment was hitting mile 26 of the Ultra, and realizing that my stride and speed was consistent with the way that I started the race, and thinking ... I can actually do this!

What are your current goals at the LAB?

Running Speed. I have always considered myself to be a slow runner, but thanks to the strength and speed workouts designed for me by Coach Lee, my times are getting faster!

What’s your favorite enduraLAB memory?

I love getting to the LAB really early in the morning and seeing how busy it always is. It is a great motivator to see so many people working hard at 5:00 a.m.!

What advice do you have for anyone thinking about starting at enduraLAB?

Try it, be patient and consistent, and see what your body can do.

What is your favorite movement/lift? Least favorite?

My most favorite are probably Romanian deadlifts and arm exercises. My least favorite is the Airdyne "the devil's tricycle"!!!

What is your favorite thing about the holidays?

Baking for my friends and family.
