Elizabeth at Everest Basecamp

ELIZABETH ANDERSON

What brought you to enduraLAB in the first place?
I was impressed there was both running and strength training

What was your first impression? How has that changed?
My first impression was- these guys know what they are doing. That has not changed, my knowledge has increased though.

What was your first breakthrough moment?
I have had a lot, but what sticks out is the first workout I did which the thought, “I am not going to make it” never crossed my mind! Only happens 2-3 times a week now.

What are you working on now?
I want to do the Las Vegas marathon. I don’t want to lose the momentum after Everest Base Camp.

What’s your favorite enduraLAB memory?
I have a lot, but the most recent is Mark in the suit for the Women’s Self Defense class

What's your profession?
Market Intelligence- but it is not as hard as it sounds

Which do you prefer: Dogs or Cats?
Dogs- most definitely.

Favorite workout song?
"Till I Collapse" by Eminem

Favorite cheat meal?
Mexican Food, nachos more specifically

Where did you go to college?
UTA, TCU and UNT Health Science Center

Carlo at the Fort Worth Triathlon

CARLO CAPUA

What brought you to enduraLAB in the first place?
My sister, Maria, offered me breakfast one morning if I’d “give her a ride to her gym.”  Then she made me stay and do burpees.  In other words, I was duped.

What was your first impression? How has that changed?
I use to think all Crossfit-style gyms had an “us vs. them”, workout-without-your-shirt-on stereotype. EnduraLAB, however, isn’t about being a gym hero or showing off.  Our coaches are competent, empathetic and enthusiastic, and it’s become a great community where breaking barriers and setting PRs are celebrated. And we all have grown fond of the crazy black dog that runs around.

What was your first breakthrough moment?
I was training for a half-ironman triathlon, but an injury prevented me from doing any real endurance workouts.  I wasn’t expecting to be able to finish, but the strength and conditioning of enduraLAB 3x/week got me to the finish line.

What are you working on now?
Finishing a large pizza as part of my post-Triathlon recovery.

What’s your favorite enduraLAB memory?
Doing the Murph workout for the first time last weekend.  Watching everyone support each other reminded me why the culture of this business has made it successful.

Which do you prefer: Dogs or Cats?
Cats are overrated.

Favorite workout song?
Anything Led Zeppelin, though it usually only gets played by accident.

Favorite cheat meal?
A 4-patty burger with fries at 5 Guys.

Where did you go to college?
TCU

What's your profession?
I’ve owned and operate my family’s catering business since 2008 (we were just voted Fort Worth’s Small Business of the year for 2017!)

We specialize in anything food-related, from boxed lunches and corporate catering to formal events and weddings.  And we focus on putting low-income men and women back to work.  And we give a GREAT enduraLAB discount – call me!
